SAN FRANCISCO, March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SwiftStack, the leader in multi-cloud data management, will demonstrate multi-cloud media workflows at the upcoming NAB Show in Las Vegas April 7-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
SwiftStack will demonstrate a production eSports workflow built around SwiftStack software, Cisco UCS S-Series Storage Servers, and Vizrt's Viz One Media Asset Manager in the Cisco booth at NAB, #SU8502CM. SwiftStack will also show how this innovative workflow can extend into Google Cloud Platform and be orchestrated by Cisco CloudCenter. SwiftStack is Cisco's Preferred Solution Partner for Media Storage, a key building block in Cisco's Media Blueprint.
"Scale-out, object storage is being used by leading media companies to produce content faster, deliver it more easily, and keep it accessible indefinitely, thus it is a core pillar of our Media Blueprint," said Roger Sherwood, Global Industry Director, Media & Entertainment at Cisco. "SwiftStack is a strategic partner for Cisco in this area and we're excited about the cloud-driven workflow they will be demonstrating in our booth at NAB."
Also in the Connected Media|IP Pavilion, just four rows down from Cisco's booth, Hybrik, Inc., the leader in large-scale cloud media processing, including transcoding and quality control, will demonstrate its integration with SwiftStack. The joint solution offers a fully automated and distributed transcoding workflow using SwiftStack storage on-premises and the cloud-scale compute capabilities of Amazon Web Services. Hybrik's media workflow automation tools –named Best of NAB in 2017 – and SwiftStack enable public-cloud transcoding of private-cloud assets. Users gain the ability to use public cloud computing when needed, incurring far lower cost than traditional server farms and completing transcoding jobs in a fraction of the time, which allows production schedules to be met and content to be monetized more quickly. This solution will be demonstrated in the Hybrik booth at NAB, #SU9906CM.
Media and entertainment companies use SwiftStack in many ways, such as a multi-region active archive behind a media asset manager, to improve performance of distributed transcoding and rendering operations, or as a staging location for playout and an origin for multiple CDN services. SwiftStack's media and content storage platform enhances workflows from production to post-production to distribution, and scales from terabytes to many petabytes as the data load grows.
"Media professionals now have new ways to extend workflows across private and public clouds, from ingest of raw content to final asset distribution," said Chris Nelson, Vice President of Solutions at SwiftStack. "The specific demands of these environments – the ever-growing amount of data, workflows spanning multiple geographic regions, and the need to do more faster – are being met today by a combination of public infrastructure, private infrastructure, and multi-cloud data management, and we're going to show NAB attendees ways that we can help."
