Streambox® Supports NewTek™ NDI™ for Enhanced Live Video Streaming
Streambox application for NDI allows live video streaming directly to any NDI compatible system

Las Vegas, April 19, 2016 - Streambox, an industry leading pioneer delivering unique video streaming solutions announced its new Streambox application for NewTek Network Device Interface (NDI). NewTek recently revealed a new open standard for live production IP workflows over Ethernet networks (NDI). NDI allows multiple video systems to identify and communicate with one another over IP, and to encode, transmit and receive many streams of high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video and audio in real-time.

The new application from Streambox allows users to seamlessly receive, de-bond and decode stream live video and hand it off to any compatible NDI receiver. This allows for virtual HD-SDI over ethernet replacement including one to many distribution over LAN.

Streambox products and solutions streamline workflows to best enhance video acquisition, video management and video streaming needs. The Streambox mission is to be the most valuable provider of mobile video everywhere based on Streambox video devices, streaming software and cloud infrastructure.

This year, Streambox is highlighting its support for NewTek including a new protocol that can benefit any network-connected video device, including video mixers, graphics systems, capture cards, and many other production devices that stream live via Streambox to NewTek systems.

“We are pleased to announce support for Newtek’s NDI, Open Source SDI over IP protocol, which is clearly less complicated solution currently on the market to replace old SDI infrastructure with ethernet cables. The workflow is so simple and intuitive that we can see many broadcast and non-broadcast users benefiting from this integration.”- said Alex Telitsine, Streambox CTO and Co-Founder

Key features of the add-on include:

  • Easily receive live video from any Streambox encoder or server
  • De-bonding, decoding and output to NDI protocol
  • Full HD and SD support
  • Compatible with Microsoft Windows
  • Universal standard IP streaming
  • Live streaming to any NDI compatible network device
  • The NDI system will automatically detect incoming streams via IP, so there is no need for a hardware decoder
